TO make the Redstone Energy Fluxduct it requires Lumium Hardened Glass .. which you use 4 pulverised obsid + 1 lumium ingot in the Induction Smelter...issue being the right slot in the induction smelter is only one that accepts either of those 2 items needed and none will go into the left slot, so u cant make the glass

 

I tried Thermal Pulverised Obsidian, Obsid Dust from IC2 & Obsid Dust from Railcraft .. neither want to go into the left slot.

 

is NEI recipe broken or is this a broken thing in the game?

The Wiki page says that you can use Hardened Glass, Fused Quartz, or Hardened Lumium Glass. Try using one of the other two instead.

The left slot is usually locked to accepting Sand or Slag, but there's a button to toggle it to accept any input.
