I've only recently started to use this mod and i've just takn the first step from steam to electric.  I've built the basic steam turbine and got it to fill with 24,000 steam, but i'm not sure how to get it to power machines. Can someone please help, as i've tried several things and i'm just not getting power.

What are you trying to power? It looks like GregTech now has its own power system, no longer using IndustrialCraft's EU. You'll need to use GregTech cables instead of IC2 cables, and it's quite possible that the GregTech power will not work for IC2 machines.

trying to use gregtech insulated copper cable from the turbine, to a gregtech bending machine.  I'm probably not seeing something obvious.

Your Steam Turbine should be able to output only 1 packet at 32 GEU/p per tick, and insulated copper cable has a loss of 2 GEU/cable. (GEU being GregTech EU) I can't find the power requirement for the Bending Machine, but if it requires 30 GEU/t to operate, you can only afford to have 1 cable between your turbine and the machine. If it requires 32 GEU/t, you'll either need to hope that placing the machine adjacent to the turbine works, or you'll need 2 turbines to produce enough power. At which point, you'll probably need to do something to prevent overpowering the machine and having it explode.

At least, that's what I can make of your situation, based on the documentation. Hope I've helped.

I've tried running the bending machine right next to the basic steam turbine and it appears to not be giving any output, not sure if the graphic for the turbine is animated or not, but the bending machine is definately not showing any signs of power.  All i can be sure of is that my steam turbine has received a total of 24,000 steam.

I have this EXACT same problem, except for I am trying to power a basic centrifuge with one 2x Tin Cable between. All the Basic Steam Turbine seems to do is fill with steam, no movement, no sound, no evidence of it using steam based on the boiler (Railcraft boiler, which shouldn't cause the problem as the turbine fills with GT steam). Being that their is NO documentation on this machine this issue is extremely frustrating. There also seems to be no other way to power GT machines with RF, therefore there is no way around this issue.
