Is there a standard way of updating these pages from one version to another? For example, I'd like to update the Crackpack page on ATLauncher wiki, but there have been some big changes between 1.5.1.0 and 2.0.0.0, and I don't want to mess anything up.

What about updating the mod pages themselves, like Tinkers' Constuct?

I guess, for that matter, how would one go about creating pages for new mods, such as AE2 or Botania?

Good God, updating a pack from 1.6.4 to 1.7.10 is a lot of work.

It's fine to update the version numbers in the infobox and the introduction. Please don't update the number in the "Version xxx of xxx contains..." line unless you actually update the mod list though, otherwise the information won't match.

Same for mod pages, feel free to update the versions as long as the information (mostly) still applies. New articles are also always welcome :)

I don't know how to make new articles...:(

1.6 modpack? Download Java 7 here. 1.7.10+? Download Java 8 here.

The simplest way to create an article is to follow a link to a page which doesn't exist. You can also use Search, which will result in the text "Create the page "[search terms]" on this wiki!" if no match is found.

Once you're editing the blank page, it's sometimes easiest to copy the formatting from another good page and change the specifics. For instance, if I were to create the article about the Soybean, I'd probably copy an existing page about a Pam's HarvestCraft crop, such as Asparagus. If you're familiar with our templates and standard page format, you can also just write the article and include the infobox, navbox, etc from memory.

Preview, Save, and you're done.

I'd think it would probably be best, at the moment, to document the 1.7.10 version as The Crack Pack 2. Brand new page to differentiate it from the 1.6.4 version.

Personally I would prefer an automatic update for such trivial things, can anyone think of a good way for this to be done?

Hint: For atlauncher packs there is a semi-ready MediaWiki table markup for every pack, example:

Bah, looks like this feature was removed. Will ask Ryan about that.

Most of the time I use a text editor which can work with regular expressions.

You can also copy the table contents to MS Excel, and there is a free Excel to Wikitable web converter out there. Don't forget to remove the unnecessary columns :)

@fel: How to automate the process? You can write a wiki bot pulling information from atlauncher pack pages for ATL and FTB pack changelog website for FTB packs. (Or probably 2 separate programs: one to pull necessary info, the other - a wiki bot itself) How to write a wiki bot? No idea.

Right, that sounds like a good idea. I'll do that.

Ok, the mod pack page is made, now onto the mod pages. Many new articles to be written.

I've been looking into that actually.

It is relatively easy to find the URLs for both FTB and ATL pack XML files, because both are open-source. Wireshark is also an amazing program. The issue is that mod name spellings differ from pack to pack, and some packs just use the raw file names without specifying a readable name. Extracting the version numbers is even harder, because these are generally not specified in the pack metadata.
