I've the problem the Workbench does not use the adjected chest containing the resources. I've I activate the engine on the wooden pipe nothing comes out. Only if I press the icon in the workbench's GUI it uses the materials laid out in the pattern and the result gets extracted.

 

I'm using the current Tech World II Modpack.

Is that a standard vanilla chest, or some other inventory? (It's best practice to disable texture packs when asking for help to avoid this type of confusion.) It's possible that the Auto Workbench requires a vanilla chest, I don't know that much about it. Unless the recipe requires a non-stacking item, you could probably fix this simply by moving the input chest up one block, and adding a hopper to pull from the chest and insert into the workbench.

Its a standard chest made from oak planks.

Is the hopper able to pull only the items the workbench needs?
