Again, sorry about this bump. It's just getting kinda dead, and I've got updates for you. :P

Just one question for now:

Do you think Glowing Grass should spawn anywhere on the surface, or do you think the notion of Glowing Grass spawning above oceans and deserts is daft?

Well, would probably be best to exclude it from certain biomes.

Yeah, at the moment it spawns in selected chunks, but they can be from any biome. I'll change that I guess. :)

Personally, I think glowing grass should be kind of rare. Like, for example, it might only spawn in extreme hills or jungle.

I second Zero's opinion, glowing grass should be quite rare, also the other glowing blocks should get a more expensive recipe, right now the glowing blocks are cheap to make and I feel it should be something that cost a bit to make so they are more 'attractive' so to say..

I'm planning to make a special machine that 'infuses' Glowstone into the blocks, but I haven't got around to doing any of that yet.

How will the machine be powered? Coal would seem logical, but there are some unique methods you could go for, like the only power source could be lava.

I was thinking that:

"glowstone dust/blaze powder/blaze rods/blazing blend/melted glowstone/melted redstone"

+

"block"

+

"normal furnace fuel"

would be ideal.

But I guess instead of normal furnace fuel, only lava would be a great idea. :)

Or maybe make it only Oceans, and have some of the islands in the oceans be Glowing Islands. Something similar to  Mushroom Islands.

Nice idea!

Also, some trivia:

  1. Glowing Dirt can only become Glowing Grass if it catches the grass from another Glowing Grass. It cannot become Glowing Grass from ordinary Grass.
  2. Glowing Grass, technically, can become Glowing Dirt, but since they give off lots of light, they never do.

GlowTools v0.3 is finally out!

:D

You can look at the Glowstone Infuser if you want, but it's still a WIP. Just figured you wanted to see everything else while I work on that. It's also a relatively big update, so it gets its own float, if you know what I mean.

If you've used GlowTools before, you should check the Config stuffs! If you're not too worried about losing all your GlowTools Blocks, that's great (you'll get a little error when you load up a world with GlowTools blocks in). But if you really want you could change the IDs back to what they were before.

I've also, by request (thanks), added a Dark Door!

Check the changelog for completeness.

Come on, guys! :P

I need some suggestions. Right now I've made a new blue Ore found in the Nether and I've also made its drop, but I don't know what to do with it yet!

Also I'll try to work more on the Glowstone Infuser, but it's not really working that well.

Why not make the blue ore have a recipe where it can be melted down if placed next to something hot like lava, upon melting, it can be scooped up with a bucket and can then be crafted into crystalline ice like this

A B A

B C B = D

A B A

-If you are bored by this message, please do not read further-

where the A is a snowball, B is glowstone dust and C is a bucket of that melted blue ore, which gets you D, crystalline ice, which can be placed down in a taiga biome and grow from one crystal to a maximum of five crystals in a cluster, and a left click with a custom tool will remove another crystalline ice, which can be planted again, you could also break it with a pick to break it into icy crystalline powder. Adding this to Glowstone b crafting allows the glowstone to be dyed any colour by adding a dye into the recipe.

-If u like the idea I have others as well-

Will the latest version work with MC 1.5.2? Some 1.5.1 mods seem to be compatible while others aren't...

Nope. The dev version on my GitHub is for 1.5.2 though. :)
I'm still working on the next version. There are a few bugs.

Cool, I'll wait for the next one then. Once my finals are over, I'm probably going to do a new spotlight.

A new GlowTools (v0.4.0a) for Minecraft 1.5.2 has been released!

Please do post any bugs you find here, as I haven't been able to get Forge to work for some reason.

Now it's time to update it to MC 1.6.2! :P

Edit: I think some of the recipes may be bugged, i.e. those that give multiple items as an output. I'm not sure if it's just me or that environment or what, but hopefully it is just me. :P

I saw RZ's video on v0.2 and I am a bit iffy on the ore generation.
Seems like a lot...

Ore generation?

Did you mean Calcite?

Candentinium's the ore, and he didn't show that.

Calcite's supposed to spawn like RP2's Marble.
